— La charca, by Manuel Zeno Gandia

In the center of our world, bleeds a centurial wound.
A fountain from which no hope shall ever arise;
Una fuente de miserias,
Una fuente eterna de pecados…
That flows against the virtue of emancipation,
Wherein resides one single Benefit of Death;
That in this context we are one with the Earth.
And it is in the Earth our rest,
That we lie like those before us;
Inward facing towards the shore
Of that Odorous Font.
Morbus Terrarum.
And this is our shrine.
This is our church.
It is our womb.
It is our grave.
Y esta es nuestro altar.
Esta es nuestra iglesia.
Es nuestra vientre.
Es nuestra tumba.
And it is in this Earth our rest,
That we lie like those before us;
Inward facing towards the shore
Of that Odorous Font.
En la que nos sentamos con la mira fija hacia adentro;
Hacia la costa,
De esa Fuente Olorosa.

Fati Nostri
05:33
|
|||
There rises a great confusion
In the minds of the subjected masses,
When the thought of rebellion permeates among them
Through the most deviant of their fray.
(They stare and think:)
“What can come surely of any act
Against the formless mysteries that rule us?
Will attempting to break our Way
Bring consummation or dissolution?”
Certainly, as time has told
And won't ever cease to tell us,
Of the trials of our fathers and their fathers.
That only iniquity is known to us;
Against the strength of the pond:
“No habrá victoria!”
That through the ages and ages:
The cycle of dissolution
Is our sovereign Master.
